Home. Some pets never have one to call their own. We’d like to help change that by introducing you to an extraordinary adoptable pet every week. Today, we’d like you to meet Perry, a cat recently found living in a Riverdale, N.J., sewer.
When Marcia Scott got a call from her friend about a sweet adult cat who’d taken up residence in a sewer, she just couldn’t say no. The friend lured the feline out of the sewer, where he’d been hiding out as temperatures dipped into the single digits, and Scott made room for the “very friendly” pet at her Happy Cat Rescue, based in Albany, N.Y.
Despite living outside for an unknowable length of time, Perry – who was originally named for Katy Perry until it was discovered she was a he – is “not troubled by anything,” Scott says. “He’s a very nice kitty. The vets say he’s got something wrong with the pigmentation in his eye, and it’s hard to say what it could be, but we’re just going to [monitor it].”
The gray gentleman seems to otherwise be in good health and has adjusted well to life at the rescue. Perry enjoys being around the 30 or so other cats who are currently his neighbors, so if you’re looking for an easy-going addition to your feline household, this kitty could be the purr-fect fit for you.
For more information on how to adopt him, call Marcia Scott from the Happy Cat Rescue at (518) 334-3195.
