Christmas is coming; have you figured out what to get your cat? There’s still time to find the purr-fect gift for your favorite feline – in fact, we chased down a few fun, tasty treats on Etsy.
CurlyGirlCrochet’s Christmas-color inspired toy rings ($6 for a set of 10) are a good bet for the playful kitties on your list. They are hand-crocheted in an “earthy Christmas” combination of red, olive green, sage green, coffee-bean brown and milk-chocolate brown (two of each color). The yarn surrounds flexible rings that have been recycled, making these toys a gift that’s “green” in every sense of the word – and one you can feel good about giving.
We all know the holidays are about eating. If your cat gets jealous of the delicious food you’re consuming, how about this tasty-looking solution – a slice of “pumpkin pie,” stuffed with certified organic catnip? These adorable toys, created by Katy Yellen and sold in her Catzilla Crafts shop, are hand sewn and look good enough to eat; the pumpkin pie comes complete with a dollop of whip cream. If that doesn’t strike your cat’s fancy, Yellen (whose patterns have been featured in Crochet Today magazine and in the new book Craft-In) also serves up key lime pie, cupcakes and catnip pancakes – so there’s no need for your cat to go “hungry” during Christmas breakfast.
