Queen Latifah is about to have her hands full.
Beyoncé Knowles, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Lisa Marie Presley have all been added to “VH1 Divas Duets” benefit concert special, which Latifah will be hosting on May 22 in Las Vegas, reports Billboard.
The event, which raises money for VH1’s Save the Music Foundation, is planned for the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Since its founding six years ago, the Save the Music Foundation has donated more than $25 million worth of musical instruments to public schools.
This year’s show will air live on VH1 beginning at 9 p.m. ET.
Besides the all-stars, the night will also see performances from Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan and Jewel, with other names still to be announced.
In New York, meanwhile, Grammy winner Norah Jones and the hip-hop group The Roots are among the performers lined up for “100% NYC: A Concert Celebrating the Tribeca Film Festival,” a free concert taking place May 9 in Battery Park, near the World Trade Center site.
MTV and VH1 are sponsoring the concert, which the networks will broadcast on May 17.
Last year’s free Battery Park concert, starring Sheryl Crow, the Counting Crows, Robin Williams and Jimmy Fallon, attracted more than 10,000 people.
In one final bit of diva news, Madonna’s new CD, “American Life” debuted in the No. 1 spot on the British album sales chart, reports Billboard. It’s her eighth No. 1 album in Britain. Her first was “Like a Virgin,” which hit the top spot in September 1985.
