Mardi Gras revelers in New Orleans started off the indulgent celebration with an odd act of vandalism – because YOLO.
On the morning of Fat Tuesday, officials at Loyola University New Orleans awoke to find the letters L-O-Y-O missing from a large Loyola sign on the campus’s front lawn. The school told WDSU that the stripped down sign was a “victim of Mardi Gras.” Partiers probably chose the letters because they can be easily rearranged to spell Y-O-L-O.
For the uninitiated, YOLO is an aronym for “You Only Live Once,” a phrase popularized by rapper Drake and his song “The Motto.” School officials have not released any leads on who could be behind the festive theft.

Luckily, the L-A did not stand alone for long. Based on recent photos from the campus, the university was quick to put the YOLO back in Loyola.
