What better way to welcome one of New York City’s newest residents, Tim Tebow, than by giving the recently-acquired New York Jets quarterback his own deli sandwich?
Manhattan’s Carnegie Deli has done just that with the whopping “Jet Bow” – a towering creation that weighs in at about 4 lbs. and has a very New York price tag of $22.22, CBS News reports.
The sandwich consists of pastrami, corned beef, roast beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and mayonnaise piled high on white bread, according to the CBS report.
The deli, itself a famed tourist attraction in the city, made some notable modifications to its typical formula in honor to pay tribute to Tebow, 24, who was traded to the Jets last month.
“Seventy-five years, we’ve always made sandwiches on rye bread,” Carnegie’s Sandy Levine told CBS. “This time, we put it on white bread and we used mayonnaise, not mustard. This is sacrosanct in delis, but we realize who Tim Tebow is. He’s an outstanding citizen. He’s the all-American boy.”
