Avril Lavigne, telling us at a cocktail party for the re-opening of the Diesel store in New York City’s Union Square that marriage is treating her and her husband, Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley, well. “It’s not that different but we’re happy,” the newlywed of two months says. Later, at another Diesel party at Gotham Hall, new couple Ryan Cabrera and Riley Keough (Lisa Marie Presley’s 17-year-old daughter) gazed at each other and had a deep discussion in the VIP section.
Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton, hitting L.A. eatery Koi for dinner one night and Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills the next. On another evening at Mr. Chow, Kristin Cavallari kissed over cocktails with Phoenix Coyotes hockey player Mike Comrie as they celebrated his 26th birthday. As the actress chatted with fellow guests including JC Chasez, Backus held their sleeping 22-month-old daughter Mattea Angel, who wore woolly overalls and hot-pink Puma sneakers.
Scarlett Johansson and Josh Hartnett, trying to remain discreet about their relationship at an L.A. press event for their movie The Black Dahlia. “I’ve always been a fan of Josh’s. He’s such a wonderful actor and very gracious, very helpful,” Johansson told us. And when asked what it was like to smooch his real-life girlfriend and costar Hilary Swank onscreen, Hartnett replied diplomatically, “They’re both very good kissers.”
